Pros: Readily available
Won't blur vision
Cons: Doesn't remove all make-up on first pass
I have been using Neutrogena Oil Free Make Up Remover on and off for a few years. At the present time, I am not wearing contact lenses.
It is always a good idea to remove all eye make up before bed. I purchased the oil free remover because I do not like getting oil into my eyes, having it coat my cornea and seeing blurry for awhile afterwards. However, I do find that removers containing oil work best.
Neutrogena products tend to be expensive but if you shop and use a coupon, you may be able to get a sale or a discount. I find that this product is a little bit pricier than Almay and Almay works just as well if not better.
I usually use a waterproof mascara and a minimal amount of eyeliner. Rarely do I use eyeshadow and I don't apply several coats so I would say that I use a light to moderate amount of make-up on my eyes.
This product has a faint fragrance that isn't terrible. I tend to have to use a good amount of product to remove my lightly to moderately applied eye make-up. I usually pour some out onto a round cotton pad and wipe. All of the mascara doesn't wipe clean on the first or even the second pass. If I remove my make-up and then go into the shower, I tend to come out with racoon eyes.
It's odd that I keep coming back for more and I may switch back to an oil based remover but I keep giving Neutrogena a second chance, mostly because I like their other products. Baby oil is cheap and works just as well as oil based removers. For non-oil based, it doesn't rinse off as easily as other removers.
This product is available everywhere and ranges in price from $4.50 - over $8 for a small bottle. It doesn't burn or sting, won't blur your vision and is safe for contact lenses wearers.
I can recommend this as a good but not great product due to cost and that it doesn't work as well as I would like it to.
